Eurovision 2010 Estonia: Malcolm Lincoln & Manpower 4 – Siren

Siren in my head is making awful sound
It’s time to make it clear
what is lost and what is found

My life has been lame, has been lame so far
I wasted years, I wasted time trying to reach the stars
My life has been lame, has been lame so far

Give me time and give me strength,
give me strength to carry on
Give me bit of hope now,
help me through the night
Give me time and give me strength,
give me strength to carry on
Give me bit of hope now,
help me through the night

Siren in my head
Yes, I can hear it again
Is it just the beginning
or is it the end?

My life has been lame, has been lame so far
I wasted years, I wasted time trying to reach the stars
My life has been lame, has been lame so far

Give me time and give me strength,
give me strength to carry on
Give me bit of hope now,
help me through the night
Give me time and give me strength,
give me strength to carry on
Give me bit of hope now,
help me through the night

Give me time and give me strength,
give me strength to carry on
Give me bit of hope now,
help me through the night
Give me time and give me strength,
give me strength to carry on
Give me bit of hope now,
help me through the night

  1. ahhh 😛 next year estonia… I feel very sorry for the singer. really… strange movements and a strange song…

  2. i think you have no chance this year.. that’s too weird and too childish… try again later(next year) 😀

  3. Thanks Andrew! The theory is that he says “has been oh lame” although that sounds weird and you might very well be right.
    But, I am not sure…
    lame = pathetic, unsatisfactory, painful or weak;
    US slang: conventional or uninspiring;

  4. I believe the 4th line of the song is actually: “My life has been away, has been away so far.” This is effectively a metaphor implying not so much that his life has been “lame”, but that the direction it has taken diverged from that of his earlier hopes and dreams. The singer has reached a cross roads in life, and realizing that his soul is on the wrong path, calls out to a greater power for hope and stength to carry on. This can be interpreted as anything from the continued ability to survive in the world to changing the course of his life to regain sight of his true destiny, lost dreams, or even spiritual salvation.
