Semi-final 1 Results!

The theme of the first Semi-final was “city”, and for the second one, it will be “water”.

Novak Djokovic announced start of the voting by throwing a ball “somewhat” bigger than the usual tennis ball with his autogram in the audience
Though he was saying that there are people more competent to sing, Zeljko insisted to make “poor” Nole try his luck in that department.

After 15 minutes given for voting, and a Serbian instrumental by Slobodan Trkulja, Krstina and Bane informed us that nobody fainted (yet) in the green room…
While everyone was dying to hear the results.. we watched clips of entries by the Big Four and Serbia, then some contestants… including (so not cute) Kalomoira (sorry Greek fans!)

If I had a say in it, the Big Four would need to step out to make place for some other entries!

And finally, the results:
Zeljko says: “First finalist.. Beautiful country, I’ve been there before .. Lovely people and finally he announces - Greece!” (wasn’t that difficult to guess from his description

Then, Jovana… complaining she can’t open her first envelope.. But, finally she announced the second finalist - Romania!
Bosnia (no comment from my side!)
Finland (absolutely no comment from me - not a public one that is!)
Russia! Congratulations Russia!
Israel!!!!!!!
Azerbaijan (Zeljko asks - how do you say hurry up in Azerbaijan.. I’d answer him “Go home please!”)

Armenia!!! I was relieved!
Poland
and
Norway!

I do not agree with Israel and Bosnia. I would rather substitute them for Slovenia, Montenegro or Andorra.

So the dull and cheesy songs of Norway and Poland go to the final and so does the super kitsch song of Russia… Shame that Belgium, Andorra and Ireland are left out!

Well, cheers for Finland, Bosnia and Azerbaijan. Greece sounded really efficient (!), but usual for Eurovision. And we - Moldova - couldn’t make it, yeah. :( Geta is not Euroformat, certainly. Too bad.
Romanians are too cheesy, gah. And Poland… :-O what are they doing there? even Ireland deserved it more, once that it’s all theatre.

I’d be really happy if someone could clear it up for me - what exactly is the message from Laka?
Ah I am so disappointed with Bosnian choice!

I don’t think Polish entry was bad… and Romanian song has quality - unlike some of the above mentioned.
And Geta.. well, the song is great but performance could’ve been better so..

:o is it me or do the songs get freakier every year??
It’s like the artists think that making the most stupid/annoying song will get them to the finals… and sad but true..sometimes it does….like bosnia :s for pete’s sake what a stupid song. I was born in bosnia and i am ashamed!!
I’m glad Belgium didn’t get through :) i have no idea why we didn’t sends sandrine…atleast we wouldn’t have made such a fools out of ourselfs
enough with the negativism :p i really love the greek song ^^

Hm.. I think the competition in total was freakier last year and 2006 was a very good year! When considered that we had one Hari Mata Hari then… no need to go further.
The situation that we have this year in my opinion is an amazing number of totally bad songs, some acceptable ones and a very small number of songs for which we can say that they are really good and I’m not sure if any of them will be remembered for a long time.

Well… not that I like vodka (I mean vodka is my favorite drink but you know what I mean!) but, if we are talking about whose turn is it, I guess it’s Malta’s turn! Simply because the country cares about the contest the most and the closest they got to the winning was when they were second, in 2002 and 2005 - which is also the year when Greece got its turn :P

I actually loved Bosnian song, it’s my favourite. I also liked Isrealian. But Greek is just so-every-year. I also didn’t like Polish, Norway’s although it was good was heard before. I am from Slovenia and don’t know … I think maybe we should get through as tenth, only my opinion. Go Bosnia anyway!!

Bosnian song is good… “With my favorite trick
    I spoof fauna and flora
that life wasn’t created in the sea
    but out of love
    love, love
Out of love…How many days we’ve ran over
    lying down, eating bananas
so we fell onto lower branches
    Without love
    love, love
Without love…” Funny but original…I think we’ve had enough of all those “world peace songs”..Go Bosnia!

Even that i hate the azerbaiyan entry, i think that they do a very well performance, Israel was obvius that it will going trough, I hated Polish performance, sucks really hard, also the greek one, once again i think that Kalomira is a lame version of Elena Paparitzou, I was happily shocked when they said bosnia, because i think that they have a clever song, only that the performance and the singers are quite freaky. Russia, Romania, Armenia and Norway did a good job too. Slovenia was one of my favorite, but in live, Rebeka let me down :( and Finland is maybe a representer of the heavy in Europe, as Lordi did years ago. Also, i must add that Ireland also let me down, i think that they were funny until they go live, dont even made me laugh…

yea kind of same here about Ireland-z2xc5v!
My favourites in this semifinal were Romania, Israel, Armenia! and possibly Greece too, they’re doing the same kind of song almost every year though lol but I think it’s still quite good.

Yea Djordje agree lol. The netherlands was not my favourite but it deserved a final place. I think many thought it was good but not the best and therefore it didnt get so many votes….

    Cao Djordje!
Well, me neither! Reminds me of some freaky moments from Top Lista Nadrealista
Maybe that is a bad comparison but.. I just don’t think Laka looks like something that ought to be accepted in the world

i’m afraid that Russia will win this year, because he was second in 2006 and all his new fans will vote for him, besides he has Plushenko with him and that violonist. both of them are very known around the world. My fovourite songs are from Ukraine and Portugal.

My fovourites are Armenia and Serbia!!!
