Even today I can smell sweet cherry
in Spring, just like long ago
a cherry days far
there where I haven’t been for a long time

When I had to go, I told them
to take my house and land
but to leave the old cherry
when I come by, to see it alive

What’s that sad thing in people
that they come into other’s lives
who’s that living in my past
that still hasn’t died of shame

I told them in vain
nobody heard me
not everyone likes a nice song
some throw stones at nightingales

It’s not the sky that you’re being offered
it’s not the sun of gold and power
if they could, they’d sell God
nobody can save them
